And if you are one of those people who prefer to replace tea with another drink, you may be convinced by the many health benefits that hemp tea offers. So let’s take a look.
Hemp tea is made from hemp dry matter, which contains a mixture of hemp leaves, flowers, seeds and stems, which guarantees a perfectly varied range of effects on our health. While most CBD is found in the flowers and leaves of the hemp plant, the seeds are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, high in protein and minerals such as magnesium, zinc, phosphorus or calcium. They also contain vitamin E, which is known for its health benefits on heart and brain function, skin and digestion.
Health benefits of hemp tea
Hemp tea is caffeine-free and is a pleasant way of taking cannabis and all its active ingredients. It is rich in antioxidants, flavonoids, chlorophyll and various cannabinoids, not only the most well-known CBD – cannabidiol, but also CBDa – cannabidioloic acid and CBG – cannabigerol.
Improves sleep
CBD, as one of the components of cannabis, interacts with receptors in the brain that affect the sleep and wake phases in humans and thus aids in falling asleep, similar to lavender or camomile. It reduces problems with the REM phase of sleep, which is important for the growth and regeneration of bones, muscles or tissues and for strengthening the immune system. Hemp tea does not leave any negative effects after waking up, such as dizziness or nausea, on the contrary, it will help to achieve a restful and good quality sleep.
Soothing
In addition to better quality sleep, hemp tea can calm us down in stressful situations or improve anxiety problems, thanks to its CBD content.
Improves digestion
The ingredients of hemp tea improve digestion, help with stomach pain and nausea. The tea is also good in detoxifying the body. Moreover, it stimulates the immune system, which makes the body fight better against various bacteria, viruses or inflammations.
Relieves pain, helps with inflammation and wounds
Cannabis can relieve acute or chronic pain. Hemp tea, as well as CBD oils, relieves menstrual pain and maintains hormonal balance in the body. It strengthens the immune system and speeds up wound healing.
Helps with flu and colds
CBD and CBDa components are also known for their beneficial effects on flu and cold symptoms. They also improve respiratory problems.
Does cannabis tea contain THC?
No, cannabis tea does not contain THC. At least not in amounts that would be noticeable. Cannabis sativa is a variety of hemp that can be legally grown in Slovakia. It contains a large amount of CBD and only trace elements of THC, specifically less than 0.3%, to meet European Union regulations.
How to prepare hemp tea?
Pour hot water over the tea powder and leave to infuse for 10-15 minutes to infuse all available ingredients. For more information on dosage, please refer to the packaging of the purchased product. Cannabis tea can be sweetened with honey or sugar to taste. We can also add other spices such as cinnamon, lemongrass or combine it with another type of tea.
CBD, like other cannabinoids, dissolves in fat, so it is recommended to add a little butter, a few drops of CBD oil, coconut oil or milk to your hemp tea. For an even greater effect of all the components of hemp, the tea can also be prepared by boiling. In this case, add the tea grounds to boiling water and boil for 15 minutes. This makes a very strong brew with a distinctive taste.
