CBD oil effects
Some foreign studies on CBD show that CBD oil can help to reduce chronic pain by acting on the endocannabinoid system, reducing inflamation, i.e. inflammation, and interacting with neurotransmitters. Some even claim that it can directly help with nervous system or back pain.
In turn, in the experience of users, we learn that CBD oils have had a positive effect on mood swings, the functioning of the nervous system and related memory abilities, motor skills, even appetite and sleep quality. In these cases, CBD oil in particular has been identified as a medium that helps bring back balance when it wanders off.
What is CBD?
CBD is one of the cannabinoids that are also powerful antioxidants. Their strongest characteristic is their ability to be absorbed quickly into the tissue, essentially giving instant relief to the nervous system. Since CBD oils are commonly found without THC (at most in trace elements), consuming them is not psychotropic, which is basically to say that THC-free CBD drops are the most ideal form to get the medicinal part out of cannabis. Because of this, CBD drops have become especially popular for users with chronic brain and nerve disorders such as Alzheimer's, dementia, anxiety, neurosis, and of course the associated sleep quality. For people with these types of issues, they recommend a rather lighter version of CBD oils to begin with ideally starting with CBD oil 5%, which contains 500mg of CBD or CBD oil 10%, which by analogy contains 1000mg of CBD.
For people with physical pain, CBD oils from higher concentrations are then recommended. These are mainly for back pain, muscle pain, chronic pain in parts of the body, or pain caused by other diseases such as Crohn's disease, diabetes, Parkinson's disease, arthritis, various cancers, and cancer. In this case, however, it should be noted that CBD drops still have an effect on the nervous system, so that when taking, for example, 30% CBD oil or 20% CBD oil, there is still some nerve relief. If you would like to avoid the effects on the nervous system as much as possible and attack pain problems in particular, then we suggest you try our CBG oils, which we also grow, produce and bottle in Liptov.
How to dose individual CBD oils?
For each CBD oil, you will find clear instructions on how to dose them. We also recommend considering based on personal size and fitness level what to start with. To start with, it is ideal to buy CBD oils with a lower concentration until the person gets used to it and then move on to, for example, CBD oil 20% or CBD oil 30% (more for men or people with big problems).
Even if you start taking CBD 30% right away, you are not at risk of anything major, but smaller characters may experience some lightheadedness and shaking of the head. For women and people of shorter stature, we therefore recommend starting earlier at the 5 to 10% level.
We recommend dosing by drops to start, which you can gradually increase once you get used to it. CBD drops contain a dropper in their packaging, which you can use to dose the CBD oil very accurately. For a basic orientation, you can calculate that one drop of CBD Oil 5% is equal to about 2.5 mg.
From there, depending on the type of problem or illness, we recommend the following dosage:
- Prevention
- 2 – 15 mg CBD oil/day
- Immunity
- 2 – 15 mg CBD oil/day
- Depression
- 5 – 15 mg CBD oil/day
- Chronic pain
- 5 – 25 mg CBD oil/day
- Sleep, anxiety
- 5 – 15 mg CBD oil/day
- Serious diseases
- 25 – 100 mg CBD oil/day
It is not recommended to consume CBD oils on an empty stomach, but also not right after a meal. It is ideal to drip CBD oil about an hour after a meal. For nervous system disorders, we recommend an hour before bedtime, at a time when the body is already shutting itself down.
How long to take CBD oil
As a preventive measure, CBD oils can also be taken for life. However, we recommend adjusting the dosage and switching to once a week use of a stronger concentration once you are cured, if necessary. For women of smaller stature, ideally CBD oil 15%, maximum CBD oil 20% in times of calm and equanimity. For men CBD oil 30%, once a week on a calm day in the evening before going to bed. As with everything, however, we recommend caution, listening to the body and patience. However, CBD oils have already helped thousands of people and on our website you will also find various testimonials from our customers directly below the products.

Hemp cultivation and CBD production
The first step is to grow the hemp itself.
- The first step in cultivation is appropriate seed selection. Every genetics is different, aimed at something different. One is better suited to the seed, another to the stem, another to the flowers and leaves. We at the Hemp Farm Liptov focus mainly on flowers. We only use seeds certified in the EU and have gone through a long quality control process.
- Once the seeds have been selected, we get down to “making” the seedlings. We start making seedlings at the beginning of March. Prepare suitable soil for growing cannabis in 1.65 litre pots and plant the seeds. (N.B. In 2022 we were going for about 2000 seedlings.) We grow all seedlings in a fully automated container for about 2 months until they reach a sufficient size and the weather is more favourable. Night frosts are extremely dangerous for this plant and about -7 degrees Celsius can cause the hemp to stop growing.
- Then, when the flowers grow, we collect them, dry them and make other products from them.
On our farm we use 3 approaches to cultivation:
- Access – outdoor – planted mainly in early May, when the temperature is favourable enough even at night. We always prepare the field nicely and stretch black foil. This is to prevent weeds from overgrowing. Transplant the cannabis seedlings from the pots straight into the field. Plant the cannabis about 2 metres apart. The plants are irrigated by an automated system. Harvesting of the outdoors takes place mainly at the end of September. All plants are harvested by hand.
- Access – greenhouse – planted mainly in early April. Transplant cannabis seedlings into larger 7 litre pots. The greenhouse helps us maintain a better temperature and there is no danger of frost. Our greenhouses are even equipped with a heating system that can raise the temperature a few degrees more at night during this period. The greenhouses are automated, with an irrigation system, ventilation, temperature, humidity and CO2 measurement. With controlled cultivation in greenhouses we can achieve even much better results than with outdoor cultivation. The harvest in greenhouses takes place at the beginning of September and a lot depends on the variety. All plants are harvested by hand.
- Access – greenhouse with backlighting and blackout facility – this greenhouse also houses a large grow light system. We use these when it is cloudy or raining outside, or when it is cold and needs heating. Thanks to the blackout device and the lighting system, we are able to achieve almost laboratory cultivation, which guarantees us the best quality results and speeds up the whole cycle by almost half. This allows us to harvest 2 or even 3 times a year. But everything always depends on the weather, if the winter is long, it is always better to choose 2 cycles, so that the quality does not go to the detriment of quantity.
The last step in the whole process is drying
Drying is a very important part of the material quality process. Many growers make a huge mistake in this step and dry the material at high temperature or unsuitable conditions at high humidity. Our dedicated drying room always maintains a drying temperature of around 20 degrees and is equipped with a dehumidification system to ensure the highest quality drying. All plants are dried in a special “hanging upside down” position . After drying, the harvest is processed and included in the production of our hemp products.
CBD oil production
CBD oil itself is already produced by extracting CBD directly from the flowers. There are several extraction methods – either using CO2 or alcohol. Each has its advantages and disadvantages. However, in all methods we focus specifically on CBD and therefore our products contain almost no THC (trace elements, far below the legal limit of 0.2).
The extract is then diluted with hemp oil (or sometimes MCT oil) to the desired concentration and bottled.
In what forms is CBD taken and why are the oils the best?
CBD can be found today in a variety of forms ranging from oils to foods to patches. CBD is highly versatile and you can mix it into anything quite easily. The art, however, is to strike a healthy balance between potency, texture, and price.
CBD oil is the primary extract from the flower, so it has the best parts in it, is highly concentrated and quickly absorbed. It can also be found abroad in the form of patches, which gradually release CBD into the body, or in the form of smokes or pills, which are also highly effective.
At the same time, however, CBD is also used as a flavouring agent in food and nutritional supplements, where, as with protein, the manufacturer's aim is to create a stronger or more valuable version of the CBD-containing product. In the USA, the Czech Republic, Poland or the Netherlands we can already find commonly available foods and nutritional supplements with CBD, but unfortunately here CBD is not approved for food, but this is about to change.
How do CBD drops affect the endocannabinoid system?
In medicine, the abbreviation ECS describes the endocannabinoid system, i.e. the cell signalling system. As the name suggests, it is composed of endocannabinoids, which are lipid-based neurotransmitters (fat/fat-based).
Early research from the US shows that this system helps to regulate psychological and cognitive activity and some parts of the immune system. It is the CBD drops and the CBD contained in them that indirectly act on the CB1 and CB2 receptors, thus activating the molecule to help influence the nervous system, especially stress control, since the endocannabinoid system itself, according to our knowledge, has one of the main roles of preparing for the reaction to externalities.
The taste of CBD oils
Our CBD oils are blended with hemp oil, so they have a slightly nutty flavor. They range from neutral to more bitter oils, depending on how sensitive you are to bitterness. In our oils, we strive to preserve the natural, original flavor texture of the plant and the seeds from which it is made, which is why our CBD oils also have a subtle hemp and cannabis oil scent.
In the future, we plan to launch a new product line, CBD oil with MCT, which will be neutral in taste and aroma, but it will be more of a portfolio addition than a serious change, as our long-term mission is to create natural things from the Slovak hemp plant.
Legal regulation of CBD in Slovakia – what about legality?
In 2021, CBD was removed from the list of psychotropic substances, finally correcting the public perception of the substance. Since 1 May of the same year, the use, possession, production and sale of cosmetics or medical products with CBD have been allowed. However, we are still waiting for authorisation in food and food supplements, but this part of the legislation is already being regulated at EU level, which plans to include foods with CBD on the list of so-called Novel Foods. Therefore, CBD oil is still sold in the Slovak Republic and the Czech Republic as a cosmetic product.
The biggest experts in cultivation y production are also in the USA thanks to modern legislation. In Europe, on the other hand, the Dutch are the leaders, and they are not lagging behind even in the Czech Republic. We, however, are advocates of locality in cultivation and a bit of patriots and therefore we decided to grow hemp directly under Kriváň.
But it's not just about CBD, we are a real hemp farm whose first product was hemp tea and hemp oil. Today, our portfolio has over 50 products, including hemp ointment and hemp flowers.
